Information for Presenters

The poster presentation is equal in importance to an oral presentation. Attendees may see the Poster and submit questions to the speakers. Symposium attendees will be able to pose questions to authors through an online discussion forum. The speakers shall answer the questions in writing, during the presentation day.

Your Poster will be made available only to registered Symposium attendees for a limited period of time, beginning 20 November 2020 and ending on 28 November 2020 (one week after the symposium ends).

Please plan to submit your Poster as soon as possible after you register and NO LATER THAN 26 October 2020.

Poster Format: The maximum allowed paper size is A0. You are required to use the `Portrait` layout for your poster. In order to obtain the required design for your poster, it is recommended to use the provided TEMPLATE. Divide the poster into at least 2 columns for readability of text. Illustrations may extend over 1 or 2 columns.

The Technical Program of GEOSCIENCE 2020 –Virtual Event will be organized similarly to a regular conference, but each Oral presentation will be pre-recorded and will be played in a live video stream on a defined schedule. Attendees may watch the presentations and submit questions to the speakers. The speakers will answer the questions during the live video stream event.

These are the official submission instructions for all presentations:

-Please plan to submit your presentation as soon as possible after you register and NO LATER THAN 26 October 2020.

-The Oral Presentations should be submitted as MP4 files. It is important to adhere to the time schedule: 15 minutes in total per presentation.

Audio/Video File Requirements

• All files must be in MP4 Format
• Duration: Maximum 15 minutes
• Arrangement: Your voice, Face view, over slides
• Format: MP4
• Dimensions: Minimum height of 480 pixels
• File size: Maximum 100 MB
• Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (widescreen format)

There are several tools available to easily record a presentation. You can use any meeting software, as long as you have a recording of good quality and your final file is in the MP4 format

The simplest is to create a Voice Over PowerPoint presentation and convert it to MP4

Tips for recording

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Use an area as quiet as possible.
            2. Do a test recording of a couple of minutes and review the sound and picture quality, in the MP4 format, and check the bit rate before recording your entire presentation. Make adjustments as needed.

Uploading Your Presentation Video

Authors will be required to electronically sign a Consent and Release statement, which grants the symposium organizer permission to receive, display, and archive the media files submitted for use during the virtual symposium.

After you have prepared your MP4 video file, please send it to contact@geosymposium.org
